We honestly found Oli by complete chance when we first moved to Dubai and I’m so glad we did. He helped us find our first home here and then a year later found us our second home. Oli is everything you could want in an estate agent - knowledgeable, honest, approachable, and genuinely invested in finding the right home rather than just closing a deal. He takes the time to really get to know you and understand not only what you’re looking for, but often knows what you’ll love before you even realise it yourself! His advice has always been spot on and throughout both moves he’s been responsive, supportive and incredibly easy to work with. On top of that, he’s just a genuinely great, down to earth person who makes what can be a stressful process feel straightforward and enjoyable. My agent is Mia Jayne Donnelly and the whole process was really smooth and productive. I really appreciate her patience with me because I was suspicious in the beginning. U knows, its my first year and Dubai moreover first renting experience so I was so scared of fraud u can’t imagine. I asked for so many details, each sentence of the contract etc. She wasn’t angry or frustrated she understood all my doubts and was ready to provide all info. When we met in the agency she was so sweet and friendly, supported conversation and I didn’t feel like I’m not in my place. OLIVER BANKS is a great value to Betterhomes. He found us a wonderful tenant for our 4 bedroom apartment in Dubai Marina. His hard work, expertise, commitment and absolute decorum stands out in the property market of Dubai. I can highly recommend him to Landlord and Tenant alike. He is one of the handful agents who I will gladly work with. He definitely shows that one person can surely make the difference. His qualities doesn't fit Betterhomes at all, and I gladly give him a five star, but not even a one star to his company. My experience with Betterhomes' operations, over the years are extremely bad. The poor ways their agents communicate, the lack of respect and improper, dysfunctional behaviour wrote a definite -avoid- alert to the name. This is present with sales, rentals and management agents. But Olie, makes a difference and Betterhomes can see themselves as very fortunate to have such an efficient agent, among the other.

I chose Betterhomes because of its strong reputation and expected a professional, worry-free rental experience. Unfortunately, my experience with my assigned agent was extremely disappointing and frustrating. Throughout the process, I experienced a consistent pattern of: -Poor communication -Lack of documentation -Lack of procedural knowledge -Lack of ownership -Inaccurate information -Requiring the client to identify and resolve issues that should have been professionally managed by the agent. During the initial stage, I was repeatedly instructed to transfer money via WhatsApp with very little formal guidance or supporting documentation. When I requested documentation confirming my security deposit had been received by the landlord, I was simply told by my agent that could not provide it, without any attempt to help coordinate a solution. I was also given inaccurate information regarding Ejari registration, I was told if Betterhomes handled the process it would take around 2 weeks, and was encouraged to complete it myself. Having rented previously through agencies in Dubai, this seemed unusual. I contacted Betterhomes office directly and discovered that Betterhomes has a dedicated Ejari team, who kindly completed the registration for me within 1 day. During the process, the team also identified missing information in my tenancy contract that should have been completed by my agent beforehand. On handover day, the keys were left outside the apartment without informing me, and I was initially told there was no condition report for the apartment. Concerned, I visited Betterhomes office, where another team member confirmed that a condition report is indeed part of the standard process and should have been prepared by the agent. Only after I raised this discrepancy, my agent immediately provide the condition report. My disappointment is not due to one isolated incident, but a repeated pattern of poor communication, lack of professionalism and a failure to take ownership throughout the rental process. At multiple stages, I found myself repeatedly identifying issues and finding solutions that I believe should have been managed proactively by the agent. This left me questioning the value of the agency service I had paid for. To be fair, every other Betterhomes employee I interacted with was friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely helpful. My feedback relates solely to my experience with this particular agent. I hope this feedback is received constructively and supports Betterhomes to continue uphold the high standard of service that its reputation represents.
